In December, 2021 , I joined a small group of photographers on a short trip to Death Valley National Park. Though I've been to Death Valley several times, this was my first time with a 4-wheel drive vehicle which provided access to locations I'd never been to before.
There was a fairly substantial storm the day I arrived, so the surrounding mountains were covered in snow and parts of the valley were flooded. Access to some areas was closed, but the park is so huge, and so diverse, that there was no issue finding shooting locations.
I extended my trip by a day to take advantage of the snow-covered Sierras that framed the Alabama Hills.
